Civic centre Spiral - Projects

Civic centre Spirala was established on the 24th September 1998 as a voluntary not political association of professional and amateur public in the area of taking care of citizens in life crisis.

Centre of crisis intervention - complete care of a person in crisis

Centre of crisis intervention - complete care of a person in crisis Since the year 2000 CCI has provided psychosocial care about people in crisis on the phone or by staying in the centre. The institution offers: crisis intervention, consultancy, psychosocial help, social and supportive programs, educational and rehabilitative work, social habilitation. Specifi c group of clients are clients suffering from permanent mental diseases. In serious crisis a client is allowed to stay in the rooms for patients in the centre with the help of consultant for a time of 5 - 7 days. This service is nonstop and free of charge.
Social habilitation in Centre of crisis intervention The goal of this service is mainly to prevent social elimination and to help our clients to clear a diffi culty of their lives through direct work of social worker with the client (individual, family, group), by looking for and developing clients competence, skills and habits, by complementing information needed for solving problems and its usage in practically life and last but not least it is made by support and practice of communication skills.

This project provides services of telephone crisis intervention and social law help. The service offers: immediate consultancy (it is possible anonymous), emotional support in their diffi cult life situation, help with fi nding out reasons of crisis, orientation in their situation and offer of alternative solutions, contacts on other specialists, possibility of contacts for people who are hiding - offenders of crimes, deviants, aggressors.

Interventional Centre - for people threatened with domestic violence

Under the rule of § 60a of the Law No. 108/2006 of the Collection the Intervention Centre offers help to people threatened with home violence. In cases of expulsion of the perpetrators from their place of living the free help is provided to the aggrieved person until 48hours after the transcription of resolution of Czech Police is serviced. The Intervention Centre provides legal aid (criminal, social and other law) as well as psychological support. It offers call or personal consultation, it is also possible to provide help out of ambulance, i.e. to visit at a client.

Preventive programs for children and youngsters

The program includes psychosocial activities, it is important to teach how children can resist the pressure of individual and group.
They learn techniques and acquire skills needful for defence. They get information where they can turn for help in cases of chicane and violence. In-process they obtain manual "I can say NO"- guide to strategy for defence, contacts on institutions that deal with children problems.

Start again - social program for youngsters

This program is devoted to wrong-doers of light crimes older than 15 years. As individual, group, or family therapy they get space to talk and discuss the problems and confl icts which led them to commit a crime. The project Spirala is closely cooperating with media service, social department of Usti nad Labem town-council, courts, lawyers.

Crisis field team

Civic association Spirala coordinates Crisis field team activities. This team helps with mid-term and long-term psychosocial help for wide public after special mass events in Usti nad Labem. Our team of twelve experts cooperates with The Integrated rescue system of Usti nad Labem.

Parental discussion group

From 2008 we cooperate with the 22nd Elementary school in Usti nad Labem on a parental project, so called Parental discussion group. This project is addressed to help parents with children´s discipline and school diffi culties.
